I think the only reason why u have to pull out the HDD in this Methode is because if u put in a BR ore DVD the Boot options+maybe the preview splash in the XMB are written on the HDD.
If u pull out the Hdd right after the preview splash in XMB is loaded there is still the boot option on it and the PS3 has no chance to delete it cause the HDD is not inserted any more.
jep okay If we can use BR disc it would be the best solution.
May be there will come out something like Swap magic for ther PS3.

What is this video meant to show? Seems like he got Warhawk to load off the HDDm without needing the disc in the drive, but he still needed the disc, which makes this method kinda pointless. Maybe it will lead to an easier hack, although I don't want to leave my PS3 open like that lol.

Although he could have just downloaded Warhawk from the PSN as well as having the disc version right?

Jep that's true, need's the original disc but with the HDD Swap methode u would need the original BR too.
I just wanted to show that it seems like if u eject the disc, the PS3 would delete the boot options 4 the game wich was inserted.
That's exact he same FirmWare issue wich is used in the HDD Swap methode.
And jep also true that he could use the downloaded pkg version but i don't think so.
